The District Institute of
Education and Training (DIET), Karbi Anglong functions through a
well-defined organizational structure designed to ensure effective academic
management, coordination, and implementation of teacher education programmes
across the district. The structure follows the guidelines of the SCERT,
Assam and the Ministry of Education, ensuring uniformity in academic
functioning and administrative operations.
The institutional framework consists of administrative
leadership, academic departments, and support units, each
playing a vital role in maintaining the academic quality and operational
efficiency of the institute.
1. Administrative Leadership
Principal
The Principal is the head of the institute and provides
overall academic, administrative, and managerial leadership. Responsibilities
include:
- Strategic
planning and supervision of all academic programmes.
- Coordination
with SCERT, Assam and district authorities.
- Ensuring
quality implementation of pre-service and in-service teacher education.
- Monitoring
departmental performance and resource management.
Vice Principal / Senior Faculty (where applicable)
Supports the Principal in academic and administrative
functions, oversees departmental coordination, and ensures smooth execution of
institutional activities.
2. Academic Faculty Members
The academic team includes Lecturers, Senior Instructors,
and Resource Persons who contribute to:
- Conducting
pre-service (D.El.Ed) and in-service training programmes.
- Curriculum
planning, lesson development, and classroom teaching.
- Organizing
workshops, seminars, field visits, and research activities.
- Providing
support to schools, BRCs, and CRCs in the district.

Office Superintendent & Support Staff
Responsible for office management, records, establishment
matters, accounts, and communication.
Technical Assistants

Library Staff

archives; assist trainees and faculty.
Class IV & Support Personnel
